We wanted to highlight the SBU’s portability and how it is used as a commuter companion.

The SBU allows you the freedom to move about with the use of NO controller, and completely HANDSFREE! This gives you the ability to roam about the urban jungle, or city, with ease. Weighing in at 27 pounds, traveling on public transportation, and even grabbing a cup of coffee is a piece of cake.

Hello fellow N3RDS!

I just wanted to simple take a moment and share about our recent trip to Europe in the past weeks. Our main goals of our trip was to visit our European Distributors, and other Dealers to set them up for success. For those of you that are already fans of the SBU, we want to share about an amazing door opening for our wonderful product to be for resale in Europe.

We’ve been putting countless hours day and night to make this happen. All the hard work has most certainly paid off. It is exciting to come along side some great people to carry the torch of getting our product more exposure. Most importantly, the opportunity of available inventory stock, in a shorter distance than the United States. Understanding that our product is much more effectively understood when the potential customer has the see/touch/feel experience, versus, viewing on a website, or watching a video.

Our plan in the very near future is to modify our “Dealer” page on our website to reflect the numerous locations of SBU availability. As for now, if you are in the Europe area; we now have a Distributor for you. Allow me to introduce you to Nympy. Here is a link to their website at –>www.nympy.com. Our friends at Nympy are doing wonderful already. They have been establishing a comprehensive Dealer network and are looking to expand it much more. Dealers in Germany, and Sweden are already operational.

It’s that time again to give you an update on the status of your purchased SBU! Many have you have been in contact with me personally, but I wanted to make sure that every N3RD out there was up to speed on the newest, latest, and greatest update possible.

While striving to uphold our commitment to our ultra high standards, partnered with our sleek design; the latest production run has come to a close. The shipment has been sent on a container handled with care to our office here in the Portland, Oregon area.

As soon as the shipment arrives, we will personally open every box, and quality check each SBU. It is very important to us to ensure the SBU is in perfect condition leaving our office, to arrive the valued customer ready to roll! The container should be arriving in a couple weeks, so please hang tight. Our product is worth the wait!

It has been some time since you all have received a formal “blog update” so, I figured it would be a good time to release some new updates. If you have been following Focus Designs on Facebook or Twitter, you would find a slew of new updates, but if you have not — I am here to tell you about what you may have missed.

Since the latest update, we have been working hard to finalize our latest production run. We did it! Personally traveled to our factory, and quality checked every unit. Of course, our factory rocked it. Exceeding our expectations and completing everything as planned.

For all of you SBU owners, and soon to be owners — I can not stress how valuable you are to us. We sincerely appreciate your willingness to dive into an amazing product, and for your patience to wait for the lead time. Thank You!

It has been some time since our latest production update. For some time we have had many unknowns, yet loads of confidence in our product and production overall. We have been shipping as many units that have arrived in our latest received shipment, to our early-adopters, and are continuing to do so as timely as possible.

As most of you previously know, since our debute on ABC’s TV Show, “Shark Tank”, we have experienced such an amazing exposure. With that exposure, came about double the amount of orders than expected. We’ve gained much more attention than planned for, but absolutely deserved.

With that said, We are excepting a shipment of 50 SBU’s coming via sea in a week or so, but are supposed to have some being shipped via air as well. A total of about 125. I have little doubt that we’ll be able to fill your order no later than 3 – 4 weeks from now.

NOTE: I would like to remind you that we advertise a 3-6 week lead time from the date of your purchase to the date of shipment. This has been exceeded for some, but of course with no intentions of this occurring.

I apologize for not getting back to you sooner.

As you know from keeping up on the blog, although it is a bit behind — we have been experiencing delays with our production. Mainly in the area of gathering all the necessary parts to build our SBU V3 from our suppliers. With the huge demand from our latest appearance via “Shark Tank”, we gained much more attention than planned for, but absolutely deserved.

With that said, as of now, I have been informed that we have all the necessary parts to assemble our large production order. Depending on when you ordered, will determine when you receive your SBU V3. I anticipate another couple weeks before your product is assembled, tested and shipped out. I would like to remind you that we advertise a 3-6 week lead time from the date of your purchase to the date of shipment. It’s that time again, a weekly update with Focus Designs regarding your SBU V3!

First off, I want to simply introduce myself. My name is Alan. I work at Focus Designs as the Customer Relations Manager. It is my intentions to be the bridge between the gap of our Engineers, Sales Team, Marketing Team, and Product Designers. I am here to be your voice and extension to our team.

With that said, I would like to just give you a simple update regarding your recent SBU V3 purchase. As you may know, with our recent exposure with the ABC TV Show, “Shark Tank”, we have experienced a huge demand for what I believe to be one of the most innovative products released on the E-Bike market today. Precautions were taken to ensure inventory to meet our possible demands, but the demand was overshot completely. Given the fact that many of you have been generating much buzz about our product, we did not anticipate this much interest, especially from just one week of very high sales. Although, we highly believe in our product and its extreme value, again, we were delightfully surprised of the recent attention. It is our effort to be as upfront and honest as possible.

That being considered, I wanted to just shoot out a message giving you (an important member of the SBU V3 | N3RD H3RD) and update. We advertise originally a 3 week lead time. Meaning, 3 weeks from the date of purchase, to the date of shipment. We have made drastic measures to ramp up our current production to accommodate the huge need of inventory. At this moment, we are on track for completing your purchased SBU V3 soon, but anticipate possible delays. I personally ensure you direct contact with me, if you would like to discuss this further. The plan is still the same…design / produce a great product, ship to our valued customers as soon as possible, allow for infinite fun! I will be posting weekly updates giving you more details as I learn on our website, at focusdesigns.com/blog for more updates. We sincerely appreciate your understand in this situation.

I’d like to introduce myself, Alan Ecoff, as the new hire of the Focus Designs Team. I am going to be putting everything into making your experience [as a customer] with Focus Designs the best it can possibly be. I’ve been helping Focus Designs for many years and I know and LOVE the SBU a great deal.  As the need for specific devotion to our customer has risen, the opportunity in my life has opened to fill this role. I have now gladly become the Focus Designs Customer Relation Manager.

So what’s going on with the current production run?!

Focus Design has come online with a higher volume production line, giving the customer now a faster turn around from when they purchase their V3 to riding the streets. Many long nights have been spent on manufacturing setup and we have perfected the line. We’ve made some minor changes, as you can see by the picture below. The design of the wheel is an all black wheel with no silver trim, or “murdered out” as we n3rds like to call it in da hood.

The SBU is awesome… so unique and one-of-a-kind. In-fact, there is nothing else like it on the market.  That means that nobody (except for us at the N3rd H3rd) has ever really built one before in a manufacturing setting.  As we graduate “out of the garage”, our transfer of manufacturing techniques and tribal knowledge has been quite a challenge to relay to our suppliers. This particular lead-time has been stretched out longer than expected.  We are committed to providing a product that reflects the same (if not greater) care and quality as when we built the SBU’s with our own hands. To all customers waiting for their SBU V3, depending on when you ordered and how long it takes for shipping, your backordered SBU will be arriving between now and early September. We really do apologize sincerely to all of you early-adopters who have patiently waited. It is our goal to re-affirm you that we will not let your trust go by the wayside. 

As our demand shoots up each week and as our beloved company grows, we recognize in full that this was a direct result of our early-adopters.  You have a special place in our company and will be considered VIP’s for life with us… THANK YOU!  A VIP to the N3rd H3rd means, exclusive early introduction to exciting new products, along with special limited edition pricing.  In addition, we will treat you like family when it comes to anything else we can think of or do for you.
